Join the Michigan Prescribed Fire Council and the Lower Grand River Organization of Watersheds for a presentation and discussion of Michigan’s forests, prescribed fire, and local water quality conservation efforts. The Michigan Prescribed Fire Council (MPFC) formed in 1999 as a voluntary collaboration of individuals with a mission to protect, conserve and expand the safe use of prescribed fire on Michigan landscapes.
Mary Parr, a member of the MPFC Education committee will discuss the relationship between healthy fire-maintained forests and water quality. LGROW is an agency of the Grand Valley Metro Council, with a mission to understand, protect and improve the natural resources of the Lower Grand River Watershed for all to enjoy. A member of the staff will present on the local conservation efforts our staff are taking for water quality as well as the results of their efforts managing the Forests to Michigan Faucets program.
The Land Conservancy of West Michigan will also be in attendance with a table and literature.
