We’re under two weeks away from our next in-person meeting, and we’re excited to finally share the details!
So, what do we have in store for you!?
✨ Special Feature: @pangeareptile will be in attendance with LIVE isopods! While we know these leggy friends are technically not insects, and are actually of the crustacean family, every being on this planet is connected! Many individuals first experience viewing a “bug” as harmless, are actually encounters with the adorable crustacean, roly-polies! But hey, if a crustacean is a gateway “bug”, we’ll take it!
📽️ Presentation: One of our favorite bug guys, @science.jared will be giving a presentation on parasite diversity, conservation, and the underappreciated roles they play in virtually every ecosystem on earth!
🏆 November Bug of the Month: This month YOU will have a chance to pitch a bug for consideration! Arrive ready to give a heart felt speech on why your favorite bug should be in the running!
🎨 Activity: We are beyond excited to welcome @tinyneedlestudio to provide our activity for November: BUG PRINTING! There will be several bugs for you to choose from to be printed on an item YOU bring from home. PLEASE NOTE: The largest bug print is 3” x 5”. We will be using black ink for the bug printing, and it is important to bring an item that is a smooth material. Limit one item printed per person.
🗳️Action Item: Our next meeting falls on Election Day, and one of the most important things we as humans can do for our insect friends, is show up to the polls and vote for people and policies that protect all living beings. Every person in attendance that shows you voted, will receive a custom Vote For Bugs sticker!
