Free Show: The Sundogs

The Sundogs are an acoustic duo that has been playing breweries all over West Michigan for the last 10 years as Flatland Grip. They recently rebranded and are the only solar-powered band in the United States (maybe even the world!!!) They play a nice mix of covers and originals drawing from Jerry Garcia, Bob Marley, and all of our bluegrass heroes. It's fun music with dueling lead guitar and two-part harmonies.

FREE SHOW Friday: Wild Honey Collective

We are so excited to welcome Wild Honey back to the taproom! Every time they play here it’s a night to remember.

The Wild Honey Collective formed in the summer of 2020 to perform original songs and traditional American folk music. Singers and songwriters Tommy McCord, Danielle Gyger, Timmy Rodriguez, and Dan O’Brien, joined shortly thereafter by pedal steel guitarist Adam Aymor, launched the project in rural Michigan as a back porch acoustic gathering purely for the love of music in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic. The rootsy and unassuming beginning of the band led to the immediate recording of the 2021 The Wild Honey Collective: Volume 1 full-length debut album, which Local Spins described as having “its feet firmly rooted in classic country and folk while daring to allow its head to explore the technicolor clouds of psychedelia.”

Behind the Name: Hornets in the scientific genus Vespa are small insects that, when provoked, deliver an aggressive sting. Vespa is a natural moniker as we bring life to songs written on small but mighty tenor guitars. True to her Libra nature, Sarah's songs strike a balance of bold and fragile, powerful and vulnerable.
